A10-9600P vs Core i3-540 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the A10-9600P beats the Core i3-540 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i3-540 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A10-9600P has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core i3-540 that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-540 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A10-9600P. A A10-9600P CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-540 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the A10-9600P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
