A10-7850K vs Athlon II X4 640 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Athlon II X4 640 is faster than the A10-7850K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A10-7850K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Athlon II X4 640 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the A10-7850K that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-7850K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Athlon II X4 640. The info from our database shows that the A10-7850K has more L2 cache than the Athlon II X4 640
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the A10-7850K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
