A10-7800 vs Xeon X5450 comparison
In our benchmarks, the A10-7800 beats the Xeon X5450 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5450 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon X5450 has significantly more cores than the A10-7800. Indeed, the Xeon X5450 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A10-7800. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-7800 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5450. A A10-7800 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5450 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon X5450 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A10-7800
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the A10-7800 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
