A10-7800 vs Xeon E5-440 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-440 performs better than the A10-7800. Despite this, the A10-7800 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-440 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A10-7800 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the A10-7800 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-440. A A10-7800 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-440 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon E5-440 has significantly more L2 cache than the A10-7800

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the A10-7800 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
