A10-7300 vs Core 2 Duo T6400 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the A10-7300 beats the Core 2 Duo T6400 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo T6400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the A10-7300 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core 2 Duo T6400 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Core 2 Duo T6400. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core 2 Duo T6400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A10-7300. A A10-7300 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo T6400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the A10-7300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core 2 Duo T6400
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A10-7300 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
