A10-6700 vs Xeon X5450 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon X5450 performs better than the A10-6700. Despite this, the A10-6700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A10-6700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5450. A A10-6700 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5450 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon X5450 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A10-6700

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A10-6700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
