A10-6700 vs Xeon E5-440 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-440 beats the A10-6700 in overall performance. Despite this, the A10-6700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-6700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-440. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon E5-440 has significantly more L2 cache than the A10-6700

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A10-6700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
