A10-6700 vs Core 2 Quad Q9650 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 2 Quad Q9650 is faster than the A10-6700. Despite this, the A10-6700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A10-6700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core 2 Quad Q9650. A A10-6700 CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core 2 Quad Q9650 has more L2 cache than the A10-6700
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A10-6700 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
