Core i7-8650U vs A10-9700 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8650U beats the A10-9700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A10-9700 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-8650U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-9700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8650U. Despite this, the Core i7-8650U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8650U CPU outputs less heat than a A10-9700 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A10-9700 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8650U

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-8650U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
