Core i5-7600T vs Xeon X5680 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-7600T beats the Xeon X5680 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5680 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5680 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-7600T that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600T. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5680 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-7600T. Despite this, the Core i5-7600T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5680 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-7600T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5680. The Core i5-7600T also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
